Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Beijing/Dunhuang by Flight
Sites Visited: Hechang Military Depot, Dunhuang Shazhou Night Market
In the morning, be escorted to the airport for the flight to Dunhuang. Be met and transferred to the hotel. Then visit the Yangguan Pass which is located 70kms southwest of Dunhuang city. Early in the Han dynasty, in order to resist the Huns (Xiongnu) and manage the West Region, emperor of the Han dynasty established Yangguan Pass and Yumenguan Pass as well as Wuwei, Zhangye, Jiuquan and Dunhuang counties. After you will visit the Dunhuang Night market - Shazhou Market. It is an ideal place to learn about Dunhuang folk-customs and life. The market, divided into several areas, includes snacks, art ware, Sanpaotai (a kind of drinking vessel with a small plate, a cup and lid. Now the name of a special tea made with sugar candy, longan, Chinese date, medlar and currant.), Tea House area and a special ethnic products area etc.

Day 2 Dunhuang/Turpan by Train
Sites Visited: Mogao Grottoes, Echoing-Sand Mountain, Crescent Moon Lake
After breakfast, you are picked up to see the Mogao Grottoes. After that, ride the camel to see the Echoing-Sand Mountain (where you will observe a very curious natural phenomenon), and then proceed to visit the Crescent Moon Lake. After the sightseeing, be transferred to Liuyuan train station for the overnight train (with soft sleeper) to Turpan. Overnight on train

Day 3 Turpan
Sites Visited: Gaochang Ruins, Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves
After you arrived in Turpan in the early morning at the train station your tour guide will meet you then transfer to have breakfast. After you will first visit the ruins of the ancient city of Gaochang(Kara-Khoja) which is 47km southeast of Turpan. Continue on to the Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves, a picturesque site overlooking cliffs and a lush river valley in the heart of the Flaming Mountains.

Day 4 Turpan
Sites Visited: Jiaohe Ancient City, Grape Valley, Karez Channels, Astana Tombs, Flaming Mountain
After breakfast, you will be transferred to visit the Jiaohe Ruins. Jiaohe Ruins is located on a mesa in willow leaf shape between the Yarnaz River valleys 10 kilometers to the west of Turpan City. running from northwest to southeast, 1760 meters long and 300 meters across at the widest part. The city includes city gates, streets and lanes, government office, temples, domestic houses, cave houses, wells, and an underground temple.Then transfer to visit the Suleiman's Minaret (aka Sugong Pagoda), the Grape Valley, the Karez Channels and Astana Tombs, lastly, pass through the legendary Flaming Mountain.

Day 5 Turpan/Urumqi
Sites Visited: International Bazaar, Museum of National Minorities & History
After breakfast, transfer to Urumqi. During your coach journey to Turpan you will pass through spectacular desert where small oasis towns are irrigated by an impressive series of underground channels carrying water from the distant Tianshan Mountains.After you arriving in Urumqi, first visit the Erdaoqiao Bazaar is the largest in Urumqi. You'll find a bustling market filled with fruit, clothing, crafts, knives, carpets and almost anything that you can imagine. On Sunday, there are more stalls and more goods to buy than any other day. The old streets around the bazaar are really worth seeing.Here is the most welcomed place by tourist especially by ladies where they can buy some traditional Uygur make up cosmetic.Then you will visit to the Museum of National Minorities and History. After dinner your tour guide and driver will escort you to your hotel and help you to checking.

Day 6 Urumqi/Kashgar by Flight
Sites Visited: Sunday bazaar, Id Kah Mosque, Old Town, Tomb of Abakh Khoja
After hotel breakfast, take the morning flight to Kashgar. Kashgar is a fabled city embracing a rich mix of peoples and cultures, with Mosques and veiled women contributing to its Middle Eastern atmosphere. No visitors to Kashgar should miss the Sunday bazaar. In the teeming market, you can buy anything from herbal medicines to carpets, from a cradle to a camel. In the afternoon, visit the town center the vast Id Kah Mosque. You also tour in a donkey cart taxi the Old Town, a warren of twisting alleys and white-washed walls, and the Tomb of Abakh Khoja (also called Fragrant Concubine tomb)

Day 7 Kashgar /Karakul Lale/Kashgar
Sites Visited: Karakul Lake
After hotel breakfast, you will be driven 200km to Karakul Lake along China-Pakistan highway, enjoy the Pamir plateau, encounter the local nomads called ”Kirgiz” .And admire the snow-capped mountain called “Muztagh Ata”(7546M in altitude), and “Konger Shan Mountain”(7719M) You will walk around(1-2 hours) the Karakul lake (3800M). In the afternoon, take the coach back to Kashgar to check in your hotel.

Day 8 Kashgar/Xian Flight
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. End of service.
